Counselling & Therapy
The initial appointment is essentially to clarify why you have decided to come to therapy, if you and your therapist are happy to work together and to understand your goals. Your therapist is there to understand, listen and look to work with you to resolve any issues you feel are having that result in negative emotions thoughts and behaviours.

Sometimes you may just seek out therapy to take the opportunity to talk through your feelings and thoughts and the goals will be agreed with you in the initial appointment.

Your therapist will explain the therapeutic boundaries in accordance with BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) or another governing body that the therapist may be attached to and decide which therapy is best suited to your reasons for coming to therapy and this will be explained to you.
